Epic Games Helps Raise $30M for Metaverse Firm – Epic Games participated in Series A funding for Hadean, a developer of metaverse infrastructure, raising a total of $30 million. Also participating in the fundraising round were 2050 Capital, Alumni Ventures, Aster Capital, Entrepreneur First, and InQTel. Molten Ventures, a European investment firm, led the funding round.
Hadean is a 2015-founded London-based firm. The company plans to use the funding to develop its virtual infrastructure for the metaverse. Hadean intends to acquire additional computational power in order to broaden the scope of metaverse initiatives.
Craig Beddis, co-founder and chief executive officer of Hadean, stated, “Today’s virtual worlds are a limited experience – small scale, siloed, and insecure. Hence why these are the technical challenges we’re tackling today.”

In addition, Beddis argues that the success and adoption of the metaverse are contingent upon the simplicity with which creators can realize their concept. Marc Petit, vice president of Epic’s Unreal Engine Ecosystem, states, “Hadean’s computational capacity will provide the necessary infrastructure in order to develop a scalable metaverse.”
Petit further stated: “The company’s technology complements Epic’s Unreal Engine by enabling massive amounts of concurrent users and unlocking new tools for creators and developers.”
Unreal Engine is Epic Games’ photorealistic 3D creation tool. It is the tool that powered the world-famous Fortnite game.
Metaverse Incorporation in Video Games
Epic Games Helps Raise $30M for Metaverse Firm – Metaverse efforts are gaining prominence not only in the gaming industry but also in other sectors. Additionally, finance and banking have entered the digital realm. In 2019, Hadean teamed with CCP Games, the developer of the popular online game EVE Online.
The objective of the collaboration was to expand the number of concurrent players in a single virtual environment. The partnership enabled 14,000 players to play concurrently. In addition, the demo was created on Epic’s Unreal Engine.
Hadean has developed essential parts of the metaverse and signed multiyear contracts in the entertainment industry. The new fundraising round will accelerate Hadean’s ability to empower creators with the tools they need to revolutionize every aspect of how they work, manufacture, buy, and consume in emerging metaverse markets.
