Houston Rockets Guard Kevin Porter Arrested for Assaulting WNBA Player Girlfriend at NYC Hotel – Houston Rockets guard Kevin Porter Jr. was arrested in New York City early on a Monday morning for allegedly assaulting his girlfriend, a former WNBA player. The incident took place inside a Midtown hotel, specifically the four-star Millennium Hilton New York Hotel at 1 UN Plaza, and law enforcement responded to a 911 call reporting the assault around 6:30 a.m.
Upon arrival, officers discovered Porter’s 26-year-old girlfriend, Kysre Gondrezick, who had previously played for the Indiana Fever and Chicago Sky teams. She had a facial injury and complained of neck pain, according to police and sources. The NBA player is accused of striking Gondrezick multiple times and placing his hands around her neck.

According to sources, the reported assault occurred following the couple’s Sunday night outing, as they later returned to their hotel. Gondrezick was asleep when she was awakened by her partner allegedly striking her, as reported by these same sources. She underwent a medical assessment at a nearby hospital and was reported to be in a stable condition.
Porter, whose complete name is Bryan Kevin Porter Jr., was accused of assault and strangulation by the police. On Monday afternoon, he was in anticipation of his arraignment at Manhattan Criminal Court. Worth noting is that Porter had inked a significant $63.4 million contract with the Rockets in 2022. It’s also worth mentioning that there was no immediate response from the representatives of the Houston Rockets when contacted for comment.
