Kevin Costner and Estranged Wife Christine Reunite For Deposition amid Divorce Battle – Kevin Costner and his separated spouse, Christine, had an encounter on Saturday. They were captured in photographs as they arrived at a deposition in a Santa Barbara, California legal office. This occasion signifies their initial public appearance together since they initiated their divorce proceedings on May 1.
Kevin, aged 68, appeared in a relaxed outfit comprising a white button-down shirt, tan pants, sneakers, and sunglasses. Meanwhile, Christine, aged 49, was attired in black wide-leg pants, a red short-sleeved top, and heels. The ex-couple remains engaged in a contentious divorce conflict. In the most recent update, Kevin has alleged, in newly submitted court papers related to their divorce, that Christine and her legal representatives are employing manipulative tactics of an extreme nature.

In a submission for a court order filed on August 10 in the California Superior Court, and acquired by PEOPLE, legal representatives of the actor from “Field of Dreams” have asked the court to enforce a demand for Christine to provide clear responses to a set of inquiries regarding their premarital agreement. This agreement is being contested by Christine.
The legal representatives contend that Christine has evaded addressing crucial inquiries during the pre-trial discovery phase leading up to a November court proceeding that will decide the legitimacy of the prenuptial agreement. This agreement specified a payment of $1.5 million for Christine.
“Four months into this matter, and three months away from the commencement of the trial on the validity of the PMA, Christine refuses to make known all of her contentions regarding the validity of the PMA,” an attorney for Kevin claimed in the documents. Kevin’s lawyers also pushed back on Christine’s assertion that she “felt pressured to sign the agreement because of the circumstances surrounding its execution” and “didn’t fully understand it.”
“This, after she previously admitted she entered the agreement under her own ‘free will,’ ” the lawyers wrote. “This contradicts the unambiguous language in the PMA wherein Christine represented in all caps that she ‘voluntarily’ and ‘free from duress, fraud or undue influence’ entered into the agreement,” the lawyers continued. “Christine cannot have her cake and eat it too.” By challenging the prenup, Christine risks forfeiting her payment.
Part of the agreement stated that if either party retained counsel to “enforce or prevent a breach” of the prenup, “the prevailing party shall be entitled to be reimbursed by the non-prevailing party for all costs and expenses incurred thereby.” Christine and Kevin are locked in a dispute over child support payments. Kevin was directed to provide interim child support at a rate of $129,755 per month until a final figure is established in upcoming court sessions.

In accordance with court directives, Christine has recently relocated from the Santa Barbara residence where she and Kevin resided with their three children: Cayden (16), Hayes (14), and Grace (13). After news broke that the couple had filed for divorce after 18 years of marriage, Kevin’s representative released a statement, saying, “It is with great sadness that circumstances beyond his control have transpired which have resulted in Mr. Costner having to participate in a dissolution of marriage action.”
