Maren Morris Files for Divorce from Ryan Hurd

Maren Morris Files for Divorce from Ryan Hurd – Maren Morris and Ryan Hurd are getting a divorce after being married for five years. The “My Church” singer-songwriter, 33, filed on Oct. 2 in Tennessee for a dissolution of marriage from Hurd, 36, documents obtained by a news outlet confirmed. The filing cites “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the divorce.

According to official records, Maren Morris and Ryan Hurd, who have a 3½-year-old son named Hayes Andrew, have been living separately since the day they filed for divorce. In compliance with Davidson County divorce regulations involving children, a judge mandated a parenting seminar on July 25. This required both Morris and Hurd to finish the seminar within 60 days of filing their complaint.

The documents confirm that Morris completed a four-hour parenting skills seminar on October 14. In September, when Maren Morris revealed her departure from the country music scene, citing a sense of disconnection from the industry and its politics, Ryan Hurd expressed his support for her choice in a heartfelt Instagram post. “She deserves to be celebrated, not just tolerated,” wrote Hurd at the time.

“I’m so sick of watching my wife get the s— kicked out of her by the internet. I’m sick of every talking head having some kind of stupid opinion about what she says. It’s the same every time, why are you surprised when she calls out something racist or homophobic, I’m sick of people getting rewarded for it.” “She deserves a little sunshine for the burden she has carried for every artist and fan that feels the same way.”

“I can’t wait for that first tour and to see all of the smiling and beautiful people who needed these songs and and also need HER. I can’t wait to make music that follows the same path, whatever that is,” continued the musician. “Love you, MM. Keep on keepin’ on.” In April, the “I Can’t Love You Anymore” singer celebrated her birthday with a sweet tribute from Hurd.

In February, Morris and Hurd marked a significant wedding anniversary by attending the Grammy Awards together. Although they first crossed paths in 2013, Maren Morris and Ryan Hurd didn’t embark on a romantic relationship until December 2015. They were seen together at the 2022 iHeartRadio Music Festival. “We had been friends for only a couple of years, but there was always this writing chemistry in the room, and eventually, the timing of it was undeniable.”

“We had such a foundation built off writing so many songs over the years that we were like, ‘Why are we avoiding this?'” Morris stated in 2017 about how their relationship evolved. They’d go on to make their official red carpet debut as a couple at the CMT Music Awards in 2016 and get engaged the following year. In March 2018, they tied the knot at The Cordelle in Nashville, writing their own vows in a bar before the ceremony.
