Roblox Integrates XRP as Payment Method – According to an announcement made by BitPay on X (formerly Twitter), Roblox, an online gaming platform boasting over 200 million monthly active users, has now added XRP as an accepted payment method. Xsolla, responsible for managing in-game payments within Roblox, has integrated XRP as a payment option, with BitPay serving as a partner to ensure a smooth connection to cryptocurrency wallets.
Roblox is accessible on various mainstream platforms, including Windows, macOS, Android, iOS, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4. It boasts 65.5 million daily active users, with approximately 44% of them under the age of 13. In the first quarter of 2023, Roblox users collectively spent around $773 million on in-game purchases. Xsolla has been actively working on incorporating cryptocurrencies into its payment system.
In August 2022, it collaborated with Coinchange Financial and TradeZing to develop a non-fungible tokens payment solution. In August 2023, Xsolla partnered with Crypto.com to integrate the latter’s checkout solution into the Xsolla Pay Station platform. The collaborative history between Xsolla and BitPay dates back to 2014, marking the inception of their partnership, as they began accepting payments in Bitcoin at that time.
As a testament to their ongoing commitment to expanding payment options, in September 2023, BitPay and Xsolla introduced the capability for merchants and consumers to transact in PayPal USD payments, further diversifying the range of payment methods available through their joint efforts. This evolution demonstrates their dedication to providing versatile and user-friendly payment solutions for their customer base.
