Ronda Rousey Hints at Retirement with Cryptic Instagram Post – Ronda Rousey might be considering leaving her fighting career behind permanently. Rousey, known for her UFC success and WWE debut a few years ago, tied the knot with Travis Browne in 2017 and welcomed their daughter, La’akea, in 2021. The 36-year-old former UFC champion recently shared an Instagram post that suggests retirement could be on her horizon.
In the Instagram post, she shared intimate photos of her spending time with her husband, daughter, and friends. In one photo, she’s seen carrying her 2-year-old daughter, La’akea Makalapuaokalanipō Browne, through a farmland with horses in the background. Another shot captures her enjoying some pool time while holding a can.

In the third and last picture, she’s seen striking a pose with her husband, Travis Browne, in front of their home. These photos were all shared in black and white, reminiscent of a previous post earlier this month, where she showcased her daughter imitating her own poses.
Rousey, who married Browne in his native Hawaii in August 2017 and welcomed their daughter in 2021, has devoted the past few months to her role as a mother. She’s been actively posting pictures with her daughter on Instagram and even spoke affectionately about her during the Stars on Mars preview event, describing La’akea as a future “tough” kid.
“Oh, she’s definitely going to be tough. She doesn’t respond to pain so much,” Rousey said. “She just fell and scraped her knee today and she was just like…she didn’t even cry. She just kind of grunts it out!” She added jokingly, “The world isn’t ready for this little girl.” Rousey, who established herself in the UFC and entered the WWE arena a few years ago, openly acknowledged that motherhood has reshaped her values and candidly discussed how it has transformed her throughout the years.
“I’m just so much happier that I’m no longer ruminating over myself all day,” Rousey shared at another event. “I’m always thinking about her and focused on her and I don’t know. Am I more considerate?” “I think the best part about it is that it’s mentally made me more healthy and made me stop beating myself up so much because I’m so concerned with taking care of her,” she added.

This isn’t the initial instance where Rousey has dropped hints about departing from the WWE. Back in 2019, she expressed uncertainty about her future after becoming a parent. She continued, “I don’t think I’m going to try and aspire to her level. But I’m just saying, you never know. I don’t want to make any promises about the future when I don’t know how I’m gonna feel in the future.”
