Sorare Partners With NBA to Build a Licensed NFT Game – The National Basketball Association (NBA) of North America and Sorare, a French fantasy NFT game developer, have teamed up to create a brand-new NFT-based game. In order to incorporate the likenesses of players, teams, and the league in its planned products, the firm announced that it has struck a multi-year arrangement to become the league’s official NFT partner.
The next game will let users create a team of NFT card players to win points based on how these athletes perform in real life, similar to other games already offered by the organization. The team will be able to take part in a number of fantasy challenges on the Sorare platform in a similar manner.

About this development, NBA Commissioner Adam Silver stated: “Our partnership with Sorare will give NBA fans an entirely new way to engage with our teams and players. With Sorare’s emerging NFT fantasy platform, we see significant opportunities to broaden our community of fans and grow NBA basketball around the world.”
The league has already experimented with blockchain before. The developer of the popular Ethereum game Cryptokitties, Dapper Labs, also collaborated with the NBA to release Top Shots in October 2020.
Nicolas Julia, co-founder and CEO at Sorare, stated: “Basketball is one of the most popular sports in the world and we are excited to bring fans even closer to their favorite teams and players through Sorare: NBA.”
With the previous agreements with similar leagues of various sports and countries, this new partnership adds a third sport to Sorare’s fantasy platform. The platform teamed with both the Bundesliga in Germany and the Spanish Laliga, one of the most well-known soccer leagues in Europe, in September of last year.
