Zelenskyy Fires Senior Aide in Continuing Reshuffle – Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy carried out a series of dismissals on Saturday, part of an ongoing restructuring of leadership in Kyiv. Among those let go was his longtime aide, Serhiy Shefir, who had been serving as first assistant since 2019.
Additionally, three advisers and two presidential representatives overseeing volunteer activities and soldiers’ rights were also relieved of their duties, as reported by the media. No specific reasons were provided for these latest changes, which are part of a broader personnel overhaul that has been underway for several months.
These actions on Saturday come after the recent dismissal of Oleksii Danilov, the former secretary of the National Security and Defense Council, who is being succeeded by Oleksandr Lytvynenko, the head of Ukraine’s foreign intelligence service. Last month, Zelenskyy replaced Valerii Zaluzhnyi as head of the armed forces, appointing him Ukraine’s ambassador to the United Kingdom earlier this month.
