Google Forms Web3 Team – According to CNBC, Google’s cloud operation is forming a team to create services for developers who are writing their own Web3 software and operating blockchain apps.
The goal of the effort, according to Amit Zavery, a vice president and head of the Google Cloud, is to make the Google Cloud platform the top choice for developers in the industry.
He stated:
“While the world is still trying to catch up to Web3, the industry has already shown considerable promise, with multiple clients asking us to increase our support for Web3 and other crypto-related technologies.”

The new Web3 team will be made up of employees who have worked on Web3 both internally and independently, according to the VP. The product and engineering group will be led by James Tromans, a former Citigroup executive who joined Google in 2019. He’ll be reporting to Zavery.
According to the VP of Google Cloud:
“We’re not attempting to directly participate in the Bitcoin craze. We provide technology enabling businesses to exploit and benefit from Web3’s distributed nature in their existing operations and enterprises.”
In January, Google Cloud formed a dedicated Digital Assets Team to help customers with “creating, transacting, storing value, and delivering new products on blockchain-based platforms,” according to the company.
