The introduction is in line with the UAE’s ambitions in the digital economy and virtual assets.
Emirates, a UAE airline, has announced that it will soon deploy non-fungible tokens (NFT) and exciting metaverse experiences for its customers and employees. The airliner claims that the move is in keeping with advancements in the UAE’s digital economy as well as the country’s virtual asset efforts.
The airlines said in a recent statement that development on the first projects is already underway, with a “launch expected in the coming months.” Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, the airline’s chairman and CEO, remarked on Emirates’ NFT intentions, citing his company’s history of adopting modern technologies.
Al Maktoum also talked about what Emirates aims to accomplish with the NFTs. He stated:
“We are enthused about the future potential in the digital domain and are committing a large financial and resourcing investment to build goods and services leveraging innovative technologies that will deliver on revenue, brand experience, and efficiencies.”

Emirates also stated in its statement that it will continue working with its partners on issues relating to its Web3 strategy.
