Elon Musk Hints Twitter Will Integrate Crypto Payments if His Takeover Bid Is Successful – Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla and SpaceX and a potential new owner of Twitter Inc., had his first all-hands meeting with Twitter employees on Thursday.
Musk answered a slew of questions about how he expects to operate Twitter if his bid to buy the company is successful. The $44 billion deal is currently on hold, and Musk has accused Twitter of breaking the merger agreement in a substantial way.

According to a leaked transcript of the meeting and a stolen video posted by Project Veritas, Musk referenced crypto a few times throughout the meeting.
“Can you discuss a little bit about Twitter and payments?” asked Leslie Berland, Twitter’s chief marketing officer.
“Money is simply a kind of information,” said the Tesla CEO, adding that it is “fundamentally digital.”
He continued:
“I believe it would be beneficial to integrate payments into Twitter so that it is simple to send money back and forth, in both fiat and crypto currency – essentially, whatever anyone finds useful.”
“So my goal would be to enhance the service’s usefulness – the more the usefulness, the better.” “And if it can be used to make quick payments, that adds to its usefulness,” he added.
Musk was also questioned by Berland about some of the issues he sees with Twitter. Tesla’s CEO responded, “
“Bot accounts and spam accounts are a constant challenge on Twitter. On Twitter, there are quite a lot of crypto scams.”
“It’s gotten better,” he continued, “but there’s still a lot of that.” “There are other people who aren’t necessarily bots, but who are operating.” “One guy is running hundreds of accounts and attempting to make them appear like people, but they aren’t.”
Musk previously stated that the spam bot is the single most bothersome problem on Twitter, and that if his effort to purchase the social media site is successful, he will defeat it “or die trying.”
“I think it’s really vital that there be transparency,” Musk emphasized to Twitter employees. “As a result, I’m a proponent of making the algorithm open source so that others may review it, improve it, and potentially identify bugs or bias.”

“I think it’s fundamental to have free speech and to be able to communicate freely,” Musk said of free speech. It’s protected free speech under the law. “So I’m not recommending that we simply break the law, since that would result in us being shut down.”
