Bank of Spain Has Registered 17 Crypto Companies, Big Names Still Missing – Last week, the Bank of Spain’s registry of virtual asset service providers (VASPs) grew to 17 companies, with the addition of three more crypto enterprises. Jobchain Espaa, Criptan Trade, Jobchain Austria, Lemacoin Crypto Solutions, Eurocoin Broker, Bitpanda, and Vottun were among the exchanges and custody companies added to the list in June.
The registration of these businesses surged in June, with the majority of cryptocurrency exchanges registering as local companies seeking to ensure compliance with Spanish laws.
Since last year, the bank has added other crypto firms to its registration, beginning with Bit2me, which was approved in February.

Apart from the companies stated above, the registry now includes C.R. Tecnologia Finanzas, Bit Base, Bitcoininforme, Blox, Onyze Digital Assets, Trade Republic Bank, Globalstar Technologies, Bitgo Deutschland, and BTC Direct Europe.
The crypto registry is required for crypto companies to function in Spain, and it was established in response to a change in Spanish law that now requires crypto companies to follow certain rules in order to prevent money laundering and terrorism financing.
While the registry has been quite successful with local companies, requiring them to register their operations and adopt compliance tools for money laundering purposes, it has not been as successful with larger international exchanges. Binance and other large exchanges remain off the list, and are part of a list of exchanges that are still awaiting regulatory approval.

Binance has been included in a gray list published by the Bank of Spain that includes cryptocurrency exchanges that operate in the country. The country’s securities watchdog, the CMNV, recently issued a warning to Binance, ordering the business to stop marketing cryptocurrency-related derivatives, such as futures contracts, to Spanish users on its platform.
According to reports, the company is in talks to be included in the Bank of Spain’s crypto registry, but the central bank has yet to accept it.
