Namibian University Set to Offer Master’s Degree in Blockchain Technology in 2024 – According to Samuel Nuungulu, the head of the university’s IT department, a higher learning institution in Namibia named the University of Namibia (UNAM) plans to start teaching a course in blockchain technology in 2024.
The MSc in blockchain technology steering committee chair, Nuungulu, stated that UNAM intends to “set the groundwork for possible incubation of tech-startups out of the talents this program would develop in the country” by introducing the degree program.
When asked why UNAM decided to launch the level 9 master’s program, Nuungulu responded:
“Blockchain is the future, thus we felt it was important to use this degree as a trailblazer in developing these critically important abilities in the country and the continent at large.”

Namibian University Set to Offer Master’s Degree in Blockchain Technology – The university is already infusing blockchain technology-based curriculum into level 8 programs at UNAM, according to the chairperson, and wants to use these programs in the Senate by the end of next year.
Gurvy Kavei, an author who just released a book that aims to assist readers understand the fundamentals of blockchain technology and cryptocurrencies, is also a member of the steering committee for UNAM’s MSc in blockchain. Kavei similarly revealed that the institution will introduce the blockchain course in a recent interview.
The launch of the degree program, according to him, was necessary in light of rumors that the central bank is considering creating a digital currency as well as plans to deploy blockchain-based solutions in both the public and private sectors.
