Aave Launches Social Media Project Lens Protocol With Over 50 Apps Built on Polygon – The Lens Protocol, a social media project built on the Polygon blockchain, has been launched by the blockchain firm Aave. Lens is comparable to Twitter, however Lens profiles are tied to a non-fungible token (NFT) that may be used in decentralized applications.
The Lens Protocol is now live, according to Aave, a blockchain firm, and about 50 applications have debuted on the platform. The Lens Protocol was originally announced by Aave in the first week of February 2022, and the first applications are based on the Polygon network.

The recent Twitter ordeal with Elon Musk, according to Stani Kulechov, CEO and founder of Aave Companies, illustrates that people are yearning for something distinct than the incumbent social media platforms. “Your content is completely held by a firm, which confines your social network within one platform,” Kulechov said in a statement.
Aave’s founder went on to say:
“People are prepared for a better experience than what they’re used to, as shown by Elon Musk’s proposal to buy Twitter. Ownership of not only the online information you create, but also your profile and social network, is long overdue, and Lens intends to empower users.”
According to the announcement, the 50 applications developed on Lens range from social apps to creator monetization tools. Users who have already created an NFT profile on Lens can use any of the apps, including Lenster, Peerstream, Spamdao, Swapify, and many others.
During the announcement, @yoginth.eth, the founder of lenster.xyz, said, “Building a Web3 social media platform on Lens Protocol has opened up a new arena of possibilities for our development team and users.”
While connecting into any decentralized application, Lens Protocol will empower users with the foundations to utilize full ownership over their “content, profile, and relationships.” The NFT filmmaker and creator G.Money explained how the lens will empower the platform’s userbase.
