Binance to Support Georgia’s Crypto Industry Through Blockchain Education

Binance to Support Georgia’s Crypto Industry Through Blockchain Education – Binance, the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchange, has signed a memorandum of understanding with Georgia’s Agency for Innovation and Technology (GITA). The parties want to collaborate on the execution of educational and community activities in the blockchain sector, as well as the expansion of the country’s crypto industry.

The agreement was reached following a November meeting between the trading platform’s CEO Changpeng Zhao and Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili, during which investments were also discussed. According to a press statement, the collaboration will include projects from both Binance Academy and Binance Charity, as well as BNB Chain organizing local events and hackathons.

“Our goals are in line with the Georgian Agency for Innovation and Technology’s goals — together, we can create an effective system in Georgia, whereby innovation and technology can be developed,” Binance’s Regional Director Vladimir Smerkis was quoted as stating.

He also noted: “For a long time, we have seen a huge interest in the cryptocurrency market and in particular, crypto education in Georgia. I want to separately emphasize that Georgia is one of the most innovation-driven countries in the region.” GITA Chairman Avtandil Kasradze stated that the blockchain-related hackathons and workshops that will take place in Georgia’s tech parks will aid in the formulation of fresh startup concepts and the realization of commercialization-oriented projects.

This is not Binance’s first educational attempt in Georgia, which aims to reform its digital asset rules and legalize the industry. The exchange said in January that it had signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the country’s Business and Technology University (BTU) to provide blockchain education to its students. Binance Academy will offer courses on blockchain, Web3, NFTs, and cryptocurrencies.

As part of its focus on increasing its presence in the region, Binance has undertaken similar activities in other countries in Eastern Europe, the post-Soviet space, and the Caucasus region. In December, the global crypto corporation announced the establishment of a blockchain education program in Kazakhstan’s universities and promised to assist Azerbaijan in its efforts to implement crypto regulations.
