Bitcoin Miner Mawson Inks Hosting Deals With Celsius Mining and Foundry Digital – Mawson Infrastructure Group (MIGI), a bitcoin mining company, has begun to sign hosting agreements with major mining industries.

According to records filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Mawson signed a 100-megawatt (MW) co-location agreement with Celsius Mining on March 1. Mawson announced a 12-megawatt (MW) co-location arrangement with Foundry Digital three days later.

Mawson Infrastructure Group is making advances into the bitcoin mining industry, partnering with Celsius Mining and Foundry Digital lately. News previously covered Mawson’s bitcoin mining business, which acquired 11,760 next-generation A1246 ASIC Avalonminers from Canaan.

Mawson rebranded and altered the company’s name from Wize Pharma to Mawson Infrastructure Group just before the mining equipment acquisition. The company changed at the end of March 2021, and Mawson CEO James Manning noted at the time that the effort to strengthen global digital asset infrastructure was comparable to explorer and geologist Sir Douglas Mawson’s Antarctic mission.

Mawson signed a contract with Celsius Mining, the mining unit of the crypto financing firm Celsius Network, on March 1, 2022. Celsius Mining will supply a mining facility to house the 100-megawatt (MW) co-location, according to SEC records.

In a statement, Mawson CEO Manning stated, “The industry is facing a shortage of energy and energy infrastructure.” “Having focused as a business on ‘Infrastructure First’ long ago, this allows us to take on strategic customers in our hosting co-location business.”

“Demand and inbound (inquiry) for hosting continue to climb, and we look forward to providing additional updates to stockholders in the near future.”

Mawson established a cooperation with Foundry Digital LLC after signing the deal with Celsius Mining. The “12-megawatt hosting customer is to have initial mining hardware units online by the end of Q1, 2022,” according to Mawson’s release.

The mining rigs would be housed in the company’s “proprietary Modular Data Centre (MDC) technology at its US facilities,” according to the company. Foundry runs the mining pool Foundry USA, which has been the leading hashrate mining pool for the most of 2022.
