Ex-NBCUniversal executive Joe Benarroch to join Twitter – Joe Benarroch, a former executive at NBCUniversal, revealed to Reuters that he will commence his role at Twitter on Monday, where he will primarily concentrate on business operations. In an email, Benarroch expressed his anticipation for collaborating with the company’s team to collectively shape the future of Twitter, referring to it as “building Twitter 2.0 together.”
“Welcome to the flock, @benarroch_joe! From one bird to the next,” tweeted incoming Twitter Chief Executive Linda Yaccarino, who was appointed in May. She did not mention the position Benarroch will be taking. Joe Benarroch, who previously held a position at Comcast Corp’s NBCUniversal overseeing communication strategy for its Advertising and Partnerships division, will be joining Twitter in a new role focused on business operations.
Before his move to Twitter, Benarroch reported to Yaccarino, who served as the advertising chief at NBCUniversal. Benarroch’s appointment comes at a time when several executives have recently departed from Twitter, presenting additional challenges for Yaccarino, who is tasked with managing the company’s operations. Among the departures, Ella Irwin, Twitter’s head of trust and safety, announced her resignation on Thursday.
Additionally, A.J. Brown, the head of brand safety and ad quality, has also decided to leave, as reported by Reuters on Friday. The news of Benarroch’s appointment was first reported by The Wall Street Journal on Sunday, highlighting his upcoming role in Twitter’s future endeavors. Twitter’s latest addition of Joe Benarroch, a former NBCUniversal executive, marks a significant move for the social media company as it strives to strengthen its business operations.
