Sarah Jessica Parker remembers her late stepfather “strong as a bull” and a man she will miss forever. The 57-year-old actress turned to Instagram to pay tribute to Paul Giffin Forste, her mother Barbara’s husband who passed away on Wednesday.
Parker’s post includes a photograph of Forste in black and white with the caption, “Paul Giffin Forste 1946-2022 Godspeed. RIP Strong like a bull. Til the end. At home and among all those who loved you dearly, you will be missed always. We will take good care of Mommy, who you worshipped for 54 years. X, SJ.”

In a statement, Parker’s family stated they were saddened to announce that Paul Giffin Forste, 76, passed away following an unexpected and rapid illness. Paul Giffin Forste died of an illness on September 28, 2022. He was 76 years old at the time of his death and his family stated:
“Our family is sad to announce that after an unexpected and rapid illness, Paul Giffin Forste passed away yesterday at the age of 76. In his last moments he was surrounded with the love and gratitude of his adored wife Barbara of 54 years, and children, including Sarah Jessica Parker.”
Their statement continued:
“Paul will be remembered with the spirit of loving kindness which was his faith, his special delight in his 13 grandchildren, and his sustained belief in making the world a more charitable, tolerant, and beautiful place for all.”

The death of Sarah’s stepfather caused her to miss the New York City Ballet 2022 Fall Fashion Gala at Lincoln Center and the global virtual press conference for Hocus Pocus 2. It was announced onstage that she would need to depart the event. Sarah had previously attended the New York City premiere of Hocus Pocus 2 alongside her husband Matthew Broderick and their daughters Tabitha and Marion.
