South Korea to Recruit Companies for Metaverse Content Creation Project – The Ministry of Science and ICT of South Korea, in collaboration with the National Information and Communication Industry Promotion Agency (NIPA), has announced that companies interested in participating in the 2022 Metaverse Content Creation Project will be recruited. South Korea plans to promote local metaverse content creators as well as the issuing of non-fungible tokens.
The project’s goal, according to an article in the Korean language publication News 1, is to build trust in the metaverse content creation ecosystem. Four companies will be chosen to take part in the project, with each receiving around $160,000 (200 million won).

Meanwhile, the report quotes Heo Won-Seok, director of software policy at the Ministry of Science and ICT, as explaining why South Korea is interested in the metaverse. According to the director:
“As part of the metaverse’s new industry-leading strategy, this project is being promoted. We’ll work hard to set the groundwork for Korea to become a leading nation in the metaverse by offering content that appeals to a wide range of age groups and providing support for creators’ creative endeavors.”
South Korea to Recruit Companies for Metaverse Content Creation Project – Companies interested in participating in the project must submit an application by July 8, according to the report. In addition, content creators and development companies that want to participate can join consortiums with token-issuing organizations, according to the report.
