Meta’s Horizon Worlds Userbase Grows Tenfold in Three Months – Horizon Worlds, one of Meta’s major metaverse apps, has reached a monthly userbase of 300,000 people on its platform. Last week, Meta’s executives highlighted this achievement in a virtual all-hands meeting.
The company also recently reported that over 10,000 worlds have been built on its platform, demonstrating the tool’s rapid development since its inception in December.
Meta’s aim appears to be gaining traction among the virtual reality community. Horizon Worlds, one of the company’s main metaverse apps that allows users to create and inhabit their own environments, has surpassed 300,000 monthly active users for the first time.

During a virtual meeting last week, Chris Cox, the company’s CPO, provided the facts. According to The Verge, the CEO also noted that this represented a tenfold gain in this metric in just three months.
The app was recently featured in a Super Bowl commercial for Meta’s Quest 2, which may have contributed to its sudden popularity, which coincides with the rise of the metaverse as a new technology.
While the firm is pleased with this accomplishment, the tool’s growth is linked closely to the number of VR headsets available to users. This is due to the fact that the app is only available to users of these headsets, allowing them to immerse themselves in the worlds.
However, the metaverse program appears to be gaining popularity, as it recently reported that users had generated over 10,000 worlds.
Meta’s Horizon Worlds Userbase Grows Tenfold in Three Months – Despite the lack of VR technologies to fully experience the environment, the firm hopes to continue expanding its user base by allowing more users to enter it. Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Meta and the man behind the metaverse pivot of the company (previously Facebook), stated the aim to release a mobile version of the software to “deliver early metaverse experiences to more surfaces outside VR.”

This is in line with what Zuckerberg said earlier regarding the reach and scope of virtual reality apps. Zuckerberg mentioned in his most recent earnings call:
While virtual reality will provide the most realistic and immersive experiences, you’ll be able to access the worlds through your Facebook or Instagram apps, and likely more in the future.
As of this writing, Meta is not monetizing Horizon Worlds’ services, though others speculate that monetization may come with future expansion and growth.
