Former NFL Star Richard Sherman Arrested on Suspicion of DUI – Richard Sherman, a retired NFL standout, was apprehended in the early hours of Saturday on suspicion of DUI, as reported by the Washington State Patrol. In a probable cause statement, trooper Jordan Hazzard-Thomas, who helped respond to the traffic stop, reported talking to Sherman and noticing “the odor of intoxicants” and that Sherman’s eyes appeared to be “bloodshot and watery”.
According to a document obtained by CNN, Richard Sherman was pulled over by the Washington State Patrol around 2 am for driving at 79 mph in a 60 mph zone. Attempts were made to reach out for comment on Sherman’s arrest on Saturday, contacting a representative listed on his social media profiles and a previous attorney.

The King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office stated that Sherman was scheduled for a court hearing on Monday. A former three-time All-Pro cornerback in the NFL, Sherman had an illustrious 11-year career, notably helping the Seattle Seahawks secure a Super Bowl victory in the 2013 season.
He was recognized as one of the premier defensive players of his era, earning a spot on the Pro Football Hall of Fame’s All-Decade Team for the 2010s. After seven seasons with Seattle and three with San Francisco, Sherman also had stints with Tampa Bay and played college football at Stanford University.
Recently, he transitioned into football analysis, serving as a pre- and post-game analyst for Amazon’s Thursday Night Football coverage. In 2022, Sherman pleaded guilty in Seattle to two misdemeanor charges related to a previous incident involving drunken driving and domestic disturbance. He also acknowledged a criminal infraction for speeding in a roadway construction zone.
